Metta Medical Centre is an accredited Yellow Fever vaccination centre offering travel vaccinations and pre-travel medical consultations for patients visiting high-risk destinations. We stock vaccines on premises so most patients can have their consultation and vaccinations done in a single visit.
Whether you’re heading to South America, Africa, Southeast Asia, or anywhere in between, for optimum results we recommend booking a pre-travel consultation 6 to 8 weeks before departure so vaccines have time to take full effect. However, we can still assist patients travelling sooner.

Vaccine prices are in addition to your standard GP consultation fee. We stock these vaccines on premises, so most patients can have their consultation and vaccinations done in a single visit. Yellow Fever vaccination in Perth
Metta Medical Centre is an accredited Yellow Fever vaccination centre. If you’re travelling to countries where Yellow Fever is endemic, such as parts of South America and sub-Saharan Africa, you’ll need the Stamaril vaccine and an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP), also known as the Yellow Card. Some countries, including Australia, require proof of Yellow Fever vaccination on arrival if you’ve been in a Yellow Fever zone in the past 6 days.
Yellow Fever vaccinations at Metta Medical are administered by our accredited providers: Dr Hein Kyaw and Dr Anu Soul. International Certificates of Vaccination (Yellow Cards) are issued on the day of vaccination.

How to prepare for your pre-travel consultation
- Book 6 to 8 weeks before departure — some vaccines need multiple doses spaced over weeks
- Bring your vaccination history — immunisation register printout, yellow card if you have one
- Bring your itinerary — list of countries, cities, rural vs urban areas, departure dates
- Consider your activities — hiking, wildlife, water sports, medical tourism, volunteering

Malaria tablets and altitude sickness
Your GP can also prescribe anti-malarial tablets including doxycycline, Malarone, and Lariam depending on your destination and medical history. For high-altitude destinations such as Machu Picchu, Everest Base Camp, or Kilimanjaro, acetazolamide (Diamox) can be prescribed for altitude sickness prevention. Traveller’s diarrhoea kits with an antibiotic and loperamide are also available on prescription for emergency use.

For optimum results, book 6 to 8 weeks before departure. Some vaccines — Hepatitis B and Rabies in particular — need multiple doses spaced over weeks to provide full protection. Yellow Fever vaccination must be administered at least 10 days before travel to countries requiring proof. However, if you’re travelling sooner we can still help — we stock vaccines on premises and can often administer them the same day as your consultation.
Does Metta Medical provide anti-malaria tablets?
Yes. Metta Medical GPs can prescribe anti-malarial tablets including doxycycline, Malarone, and Lariam depending on your destination and medical history. Scripts are dispensed from any pharmacy.
What’s included in a pre-travel consultation?
Your GP reviews your itinerary, vaccination history, and planned activities, then recommends the vaccines and medications you need. Vaccines can usually be administered on the day. You’ll also get advice on food and water safety, insect-borne disease prevention, altitude sickness, and traveller’s diarrhoea.
Do I need the Yellow Fever Certificate (Yellow Card)?
If you’re travelling to or from Yellow Fever risk areas, yes. Some countries require proof of vaccination on arrival. Since 2016, the World Health Organization updated its guidance — one dose of Yellow Fever vaccine provides lifelong protection for most travellers, so the 10-year booster is no longer required.
Can children get travel vaccinations at Metta Medical?
